Audio for Narrative - Star Wars

For the next project we were given the task to produce a narrative whether it be our own or an already existing one, by only using sound and no picture. Our group had decided to take a scene from episode three of ‘Star Wars’, in which Anakin, Obi Wan Kenobi, and Padme illustrating a story of rebirth and tragedy. With this being a Star Wars story, we knew that there were going to specific sounds would let the listener know in what context the story was. We could only use very little dialogue, so we had to rely on iconic and distinguishable sounds from the franchise. the story is quite an important piece to the series so fans of Star Wars could probably pick out the scene, but for people who have not seen the films, we had to create a timeline of sound that could put the imagery in the head of the audience. Sadness and fear are the emotional response we were trying to achieve, we did this by using a score that fit the moments of the story that were tragic and the moments that were triumphant and filled with tension.

I think the story turned out great, the continuation of the story is evident with three distinct sections along with the sounds providing response from listener. There were a couple of things that could be improved, like the voice acting and the sound quality of some of the spot effects could have been better, but overall it turned out better than expected.
