Multimedia Timeline

For our Multimedia timeline as a group we started with our trailer as it had the most work, so starting it straight away was agreed upon. For everybody else, their individual project would be completed in their own time while if help was needed from the group then we would pitch. We aimed to complete the soundtrack of the trailer first, moving on to the dialogue and then the atmos and spot effects. For my individual jingles, the animation was completed after the trailer to be able to move onto the advertisement. The soundtrack for the ad was completed first with the effects and atmos done later on.

Not much research was done for the trailer, as a group we sort of just winged it. The sound effects were to be recorded ourselves which included the footsteps, necklace rattle, blood drips and impact sounds with everything else we would just sample. The soundtrack would all be done in the box, using samples. The soundtrack is orchestral with brass, woodwind an drums/timpanis. we aimed to match the style of the original soundtrack while making it our own. This process was planned to take a week. The dialogue was done within an hour, with spotting and recording the sound effects along with sourcing samples would take another week.

For my animation, it was to be all sample-based and as it was only a minute long and to be looped, I gave myself a couple of days. The animation soundtrack is comprised of atmos sounds and scary spot effects as I was going for a horror type theme to match the eeriness of the animation. In terms of my advertisement, the soundtrack was to be stripped down, just vocals and guitar while everything else recorded and sampled. To take about a week. The trailer was finished in time for the presentation. With my animation and advertisement finished during the last week.

Great to hear that you got the work done but always good to write a plan in advance to help keep things on schedule rather than winging it!
